Is the Crust Really the Best Part?
You know those old crazy sayings your mom used to say to you to get you to do things like “eat it, the crust is the best part!” or “There are children starving in Africa!”. Well now you’re in the midst of motherhood, and you may find yourself saying those same things to your children. Have you ever paused to think is this even true?
In reality there is no difference between the crust and the crumb of a baked good. Bread, pizza, cake, cookies, anything with a crust is the same chemical make up throughout. The difference is that crust has been exposed to heat longer. This sturdy crust protects the inside keeping the crumb soft and moist, perfect. Being a mom is like that. Moms take on the heat of the world so their families can be the gooey part of a brownie, not literally but, you get what I’m saying.
Motherhood: It’s the Crust
As a mom, that makes you the best part. If you’re the best part, you deserve the best part of life. That is why I started this blog. I focus on the realities of motherhood and keeping your identity as much as possible.
When I became a mom, I was shocked at how much my life had changed. I was no longer Katie, I was Momma. The time I spent on myself, the things I used to enjoy, even my relationship with my husband changed. This change wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, just different. Now that my family has grown, I have discovered that I still am me, I still want to pursue my interests and passions, but I just have to do it with little people and a different name.
